I don't spend enough time with this book as I should, it just makes me too sad to read it. There's something painfully truthful about Joseph Pintauro's words... almost like, things we know, but don't want to think about... Oh, heck- I don't know. I've been thinking about this book ever since you posted it... it made me feel so sad and haunted. But of course it's lovely, and there's also so fierce in its declarations. What an amazing little book.

After reading about the crocuses--which I do get a little happily weepy over, because I'm constantly amazed at how they're able to surge through the snow and bloom, even in super-mucky New York snow--I absolutely have to get a copy of this book for my own.

i have a huge stash of those gummed labels, with dif. color borders, i got them many many years ago and use them still to label way to many things in my house, some people make fun of all the labled jars i have in cupboards, but they look so pretty!
