It all makes sense!

it all makes sense!

A few weekends ago my mum and sister and I went to a stall antique store in Connecticut. The place is huge and I always, always find some little ol thing to take home. There was this sweet man with old crank up record players and he was selling records from the 20's/30's/40's ... I was pestering him about Paul Whiteman records as my mom and sister were wandering about. We joined up and looked around on the next floor and on our way out I made sure to stop by the woman's booth who has little Beatrix Potter books. I keep meaning to buy The Story of Two Bad Mice, but I totally got distracted when I saw this beautiful little black lambie, who has a little key at the bottom that when you turn it plays "hush little baby" so slowly

... I let out a little yelp and my sister laughed at me and said my mom did the same thing when she was looking at it. Needless to say, after only one "mommm can we get itttt?!?" she said yes and that little bebe was tucked under my arm for the rest of our time there!

....MUST be something in the blood!

PS Mom, if you're looking at this - don't fret, I'll bring her home soon!

i literally stayed in and washed my hair tonight, so i'm glad to find another stay-in friday night gal on the interweb!

i'd like to see an antique mall, for once, where the people peddling their wares were actually there. i get so sad seeing all that great stuff sitting around unattended. people aren't careful enough when they know they're not being watched-- i'm constantly un-catching dresses from sharp edges when i visit my local shop!

haha rant over.. have a wonderful night!

That's exactly like something I swiped from my great grandma's house when I was little. I love it

oooooh Effie he is the cutest little guy!! I love that he is a black sheep!!
I found an old puppy dog stuffed toy and although the first thing I thought of when I saw it was my own little puppy dog, you came to mind not seconds after!! :D
Needless to say he is mine now, along with a little crank up teddy bear that plays freres Jacques...
it definitely all made me think of you!

I probably would have yelped with the cuteness of it, too, and my husband would have been the one laughing at me!

Aww that's too cute! I have a love for Beatrix Potter as well! So much in fact that when I have a daughter, her middle name is going to be Beatrix.

I looove Beatrix Potter! I have almost all her stories in little tiny books. I even saw a museum exhibit on Beatrix Potter in Toronto a few years ago!
