Labor Day Weekend
Brimfield started this morning. I had hopes to go every day this week. Big plans for a Tuesday through Friday clothing, furniture and carnival food filled week. But with a forecasted rain filled day, I'm still tucked into bed - staring at the weather page on my phone, and then out the window, and then back at the phone - feeling more and more guilty with each hour that passes and no rain drops.
I figured to balance out some of my guilt, I'd pay some attention to this blog. Albeit a lazy attempt with a few phone photos from this past weekend. It was a good one, and I'm already missing the Summer something awful.

I don't like clothes
. . .
A certain someone once posted a handful of 1910's Home & Garden magazine covers to the internet and I still remember that blog post to this day. Pretty brunettes tending to their flower gardens in clothing that made it through the past 100 years looking easy and beautiful and exactly the kind of thing you'd want to wear. Along with the magazine covers was this caption: "I feel like someone looked into my heart and painted who i want to be these days."
I saw Dadu Shin's illustrations this morning on Rebecca's blog and it reminded me of Amy's post in that, now I can't get these girls out of my brain. Maybe it's the hair, maybe it's the clothing... But they've got me wanting a long, geometric print empire waist dress to wear, ASAP... (or maybe by Friday, please!)

Cottage Life

Wild Flowers at Elmwood

Mark your calendars and get those paypal accounts ready - something pretty fantastic is going down on July 29th and I wouldn't miss it for the world! Amy is hosting a pretty special flower filled afternoon at Elmwood and the day's agenda includes instruction on hand bouquets, mason jar arrangements and maybe a daisy crown or two (if I can have anything to do with it). Some of my most favorite days involve that girl, her flowers, and that house - so I promise it's gunna be good.
