Lomo adventures, pt. 2 - Sunset Car Rides

Since moving to San Francisco I've realized my favorite thing to do is get out of the city for little day trips with my boyfriend. Even if it's just for a few hours in the afternoon. These photos were taken on our way home from Sebastopol and each one was taken just out of the passenger side window.... My favorite place to be. (Except for the photo of the horse, for that one I hopped out)

That last one is my very, very favorite.

Hey look, it's Stony Point Road! I live in Petaluma and I drive to Sebastopol often for poetry readings and vintage clothing (check out Aubergine if you haven't) so I drive that road a lot. I'm glad you are checking out Sonoma County in the winter. All the hills dry up and turn brown once summer comes around. But right now they are a beautiful green.

Isn't Northern California just gorgeous! I'm glad you're getting out of the city and exploring my home area. It's a magical place.

If you get a chance, pack a picnic and go to Point Reyes. It is such a beautiful drive whether you take Route 1 and hug the coast or go through Samuel P. Taylor Park. One of my favorite places in the North Bay.

Happy traveling! :)

The last four of those photographs look really like the Irish countryside, around where my grandparents live in Cork. These are beautiful! They make me want to crack out my Diana again.

These are so beautiful, they almost seem more like paintings than photographs.

Very beautiful. I love that you can drive not too far out of SF and find so much diversity in landscape and eco-system. I miss CA a lot. I would move there in a heartbeat

Oh, I know these roads well! That last photo is indeed pure magic and it captures the beauty of Sonoma County wonderfully.

P.S. Have you been to Hot Couture Vintage in Santa Rosa? Can be kinda pricey but it's worth checking out just to see so many beautiful vintage dresses all in one place :)

This makes me incredibly sad that I moved from Northern California back to San Diego... and now I'm trapped in Detroit.

There is so much magic in the area up there, isn't there? Beautiful sunsets, wandering forests, windblown meadows and gorgeous cliffside beaches.

And it's so much more enchanted when captured through a lens of a Lomo.

Thank you for these! These gave me a little happy kick in the pants today!
