Pink Frills and Evolving Outfits

Well, I have a surprise day off! So - I'm going to scrounge around my closet and try and get a Big Cartel update together for later!!

Oh! And that blousey from yesterday!!! When I first found it I didn't have the slightest idea about what to wear with it ... so, this post is dedicated to the evolution of an outfit!!!

Pt. 1

Pt. 1

This is my favorite version! I really like the pale pink with the faded green trousers. But, those trousers always need a heel, and when a gal has to stand on her feet for work, heels aren't always so practical!

. . .

Pt. 2

Pt. 2

Hat, meet flats!! I wanted to wear my hat because I was so excited about it, and thought the blue shoesies would be another nice introduction of blue into the outfit. But, I hate wearing pants and I start to feel weird and too self conscious in them... So...

. . .

Pt. 3

Pt. 3

The most practical 'me' version! A sweater because I'm always so dang cold! And my wool tweed Lyell shorts. Funny that wearing pants makes me feel weird, but shorts and tights are okay... Girls....

. . .

Dress up

And this one is just 'cuz. All practicalities forgotten! A sweet co-worker of mine leant the shorts to me because they're so dang cute and go perfectly with that blouse.... A proper photo shoot with that blouse/shorts duo is in order!

eek, i love all of these! the one with the shorts is the very best! you're inspiring me to look for a pair of winter shorts! i must say, i would have been a bit intimidated by such a pretty, frilly blouse, but you've incorporated it so well. and your hair...the rag curls are perfect!

Lovely outfits overall, the first version is my favorite-- you look great in those pants (I understand your sentiment though, I feel the same way about jeans!).

The blouse is wonderful! I love all the combinations you've made, but yes, I agree with you that the first one is the most beautiful!!

You look stunning indeed in all the pictures :)

I love the version with the wool shorts! And I have the same problem with wearing trousers...Shorts and tiny skirts don't make me feel weird about my legs, however a pair of trousers is a completely different story...

These are all such amazing outfits, but that last one!!! You need to find an identical pair of shorts for yourself!

What a beautiful blouse! The light pink color really complements you hair and skin tone. I do like the first look the most but I must admit I have a thing for olive green so that may have influenced my choice a bit.

love the idea of seeing the outfit evolve! lovely. and is your hair naturally so curly?! if you have any curling techniques please please share them for a poor idolizer of curls!

Plum said...

I agree with the first comment, you have wonderful hair. As for the views of the outfit in its evolution...it's so hard to choose a favorite, they are all special in a different way. The hat is pretty fantastic.

Gina said...

I feel exactly the same way about pants vs. shorts + tights!
What a great top--you can never go wrong with an excess of frill!

Rachel said...

pretty! I love all the outfits but I gotta say those impractical frilly shorts are my favorite!

Your accessories are beyond gorgeous and the clothes are utterly romantic, if only I could spend a dreamy moment in that closet.

If you have a moment or two, please amuse yourself with my new creation. I would greatly appreciate the brief moment of adoration.

I can't decide if I like the hat or the blouse better!! amazing!

PS: Are you rag curling your hair these days or using some other method? I ask because you hair looks absolutely adorable here and I've been messing with the rag curls lately but to NO avail. HELP! ;)

They all look beautiful! :D My favorite is the one with the shorts. I agree about pants, though- I just feel strange wearing them. Tights and shorts, however, I love wearing! :)
Also, your hair is so cute!

Those shorts and the frilly blouse are perfect :D
Where do you find all these beautiful clothes?

Kelley Anne said...

Your blouse is so pretty and feminine. I love all of the ways that you styled it...but can't get over your hat.

These outfits are so lovely! perfect with your skin tone :)

Louise said...

oh my goodness, look at that hair! just gorgeous! How do you get such gorgeous curls (or are they natural)? I love the shorts/tights/sweater combination with the blouse most (though all are truly lovely) because I feel totally the same way about short as opposed to trousers...also you have inspired me to try out that mustard yellow hue, so thank you. I love it, even more so recently, but have always shyed away from it because of my own colouring. But now I see you - with blond hair and pale skin, rosy cheeks, just like me - wearing it and am very inspired! Sorry for the extra long comment, this is my first visit here and I am just gushing because your blog/you is/are amazing! :)
