A new addition !

Internet, meet our couch!

IMG_0650

It's been a 3.5 month search for this thing. Craigs List... Flea markets ... antique stores. In the mean time lots of hanging out on the floor/excessive internet sessions in bed which lead to too much snoozing ... but those times are behind us now!!!

I plan on adding a little table behind the couch to turn into a nice area for plants and other curiosities. But in the mean time it quickly turned into the new headquarters for all hot chocolate, sewing, internet browsing, and 1385 business. (which by the way is updated for the most part!) But, now, I have to leave my office for a thrifting adventure. Hopefully I'll bring back some nice things!!

... and maybe some more monochromatic pillows!

I love the couch! Where did you end up getting it? You'll have to add more photos when you get the table, sounds really interesting (in a good way). Wishing you lots of luck on your thrifting adventure!

That couch is perfect! It goes so well with the room and you.

Lovely couch - and what's wrong with those pillows? I say bah, humbug to monochromatic anything! A couch with a pattern like that just begs to be shaken up a little with multicolored throw pillows. Paisley might be an exciting addition, methinks...

Lovely sofa! I work at a vintage store and so I've gotten a lot of my furniture from there. I love mid century vintage--furniture-decor-clothing-you name it.

my parents had that exact couch when i was growing up. i could never forget that incredible pattern. eventually they replaced it with something less beautiful/comfortable for napping. no idea what happened to it... wow, now i might have to ask. looks so great in your place!

So pretty! Excellent idea to put a table behind it. The light looks perfect for happy plants. And also, poo on you for making me want to move back to sf! I love the old old apartments there!

I love it! I have one just like it that I got for free in college, I can't wait to get it out of storage when I have a house of my own again!

a thought is the blossom: thank you!!! i will definitely put photos up once we get the living room worked out! we ended up finding the couch on craigslist - it was only $100 which is probably more then I would have paid if I were in Boston still ... but, $100 in San Francisco is like peanuts compared to most of the stuff that was floating around!

shannon and christina: funny you say that! I couldn't agree more! its one of my favorite color palates and I was so dang happy to find it!

marcheline - awwwh, that's funny! I really love monochromatic things. especially when it's one color but different shades! I'll definitely consider some additional pattern though - although the patterns in our apartment are getting out of control and my boyfriend might fly the coop!

lacey starr - that's the perfect way to do it! i wish there was a one stop shop for mid-century furniture and clothing around here!!! i think my favorite are the tumblers! so many good drinking glasses with lovely things printed onto them!!!

la fille dans la foret: I hope you find something perfect soon!! I know how much of a frustrating search it can be!!

maggie, emily rose, and delightfully tacky: that's amazing! I always really love finding twinsies with vintage things - in this case triplets!!

I absolutely ADORE this!
My couches look like they came from a Vegas hotel lounge.

Oh my! I used to have the same couch, though mine was not in that good condition. Found mine at Goodwill in Portland, for for $15, and loved it for four years before moving to NYC. It is a very comfortable, cute little sofa!
