Today's Inspiration: The Velveteen Rabbit

It's 6:15 in the morning and instead of getting ready for work and cleaning my messy room in preparation for my most favorite person in the entire world to visit me this weekend - I'm procrastinating. But, I think this is an acceptable form of procrastination as it comes in the form of beautiful scans from The Velveteen Rabbit. The University of Connecticut sent us 4 carts of wonderful books - and this is the first of a few I plan on sharing! I know this book holds a special place in my childhood (my heart almost exploded when I saw it on the list of books they were sending!!) and I'm sure it does for many others - so I'll stop the yappings and get to the pictures (so I can also get to the tidying!)

This book also has special meaning for my childhood... I remembering loving it, but also finding it quite sad. I'd forgotten how interesting the illustrations were, though. Thanks for sharing!

My heart is melting... I have always had a thing for vintage bunny illustrations, especially from children's books and this is one of my major childhood favorites! I'm sure you know my all-time favorite, the Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown, right?

i loved this book! but i always cried at the end. my stuffed animals and dollies are some of my most precious posessions. as a child i always had a plan on how i would save them all if ever there was a fire.

I remeber reading this book as a child and being so filled with inspiration. I would pretend four hours that I had my very own velveteen rabbit!
