So long SF

Today is my last full day in San Francisco before leaving for my Massachusetts July summer vacation. The weather has been really foggy and pretty cold, but today wad finally nice enough to wear my new dress! I found it on ebay in the Edwardian section, and it came all the way from France! I don't normally buy things if they're coming from another county (I'm too impatient to wait for the shipping) But, everything just sounds so much nicer when the word 'France' or 'French' is in the listing title, why is that?! It also reminded me of those nice Burberry ones that cost a fortune... This one was $30 with free shipping!

I'm also wearing a hat. Which, is weird. I don't wear hats. I just feel strange in them. I've had this one hanging around for a while and I figured it was time to take it out today.

Today was spent mostly running about doing little un-important errands. I took a few lomo photos while we were out and about around the city - but for good measure I wanted to take a few digital photos in our courtyard. We were hoping that Westley would be able to run around a bit while we snapped photos, but the little Peter Rabbit rascal kept trying to wiggle through the gate and get back into the basement of our apartment building. The basement is where all the trash/recycling is held so it's basically every dog's dream buffet.

He also got himself a little summer haircut yesterday to prepare for the insanity that is East Coast summer humid heat. I miss his old fox face terribly, but I know it's for the best... Hopefuly that hair will grow quick though!

I have that roll of film to develop, but I have so many things I haven't done yet that I should probably wait until I get back to MA to have it done.. In the mean time - I hope everyone is well and enjoying summer!

What a beautiful dress, but I am quite distracted by that gorgeous pooch face. Best wishes on the changes!

The Edwardian dress is lovely on you and is perfect for the summer-- I wish I owned a dress that old!

You look beautiful! What a lovely romantic dress!

I certainly am always swayed by listings mentioning France/French/Paris especially - I think the allure of the French has a certain power, esp. when it comes to clothing!

I have a pomeranian that has beautiful red fur. It gets too hot in the summer though so I'm going to have to get him clipped. I know what you mean about missing the natural look & a cut being for the best.

Dream girl! That dress really is gorgeous--I love the bottom of it and the length is just perfect! Also, $30 annddd it's French?!? Too good to be true!

Aww and little scruffly will soon be scruffly again, don't you worry! I always get real sad when Sweetie gets her hairs cute 'cause I like her all fluffy with her little tiny curls and all but it always does grow back!

Alsoooo-- see you maybe soon?!? We need to figure this out!

You look absolutely stunning, very angelic! I agree with your statement about clothes from France esp. vintage ones, they are very well made.

What a lovely ensemble. What I would not give for a little cool weather...even with the fogg. It is good to be prepared for the eact coast weather...I would bring the hat for those fun humid people hair days!

I've been loving a similar, larger version of the hat :)

Oh! That Edwardian dress is just dreamy! I'm always afraid to wear things that old - I am too ungraceful and worry about tearing the fabric. But that one looks really sturdy. What a lucky find! It looks just perfect on you.

You're taking a step towards the summertime hats that I wish I could. It looks stunning on you with that Edwardian dress, of course!

Absolutely lovely dress. And the hat...! I have such a thing for hats, but no one I know wears them. Sadface.

That summer puppy haircut is adorable, btw. Had to do a similar one to my longhaired guinea pig (East Coaster here...yyeeeah. Already avoiding going outdoors.)

You look so beautiful! I never wear hats either, but this summer I've not only bought a straw hat, but also a turban and a cloche. Trying to like myself in them! A summer dress, satchel, loafers or clogs and a straw hat is probably going to be my summer uniform. :)

That dress is amazing! What a fantastic find. I love your whole outfit, actually--the hat is such a fun touch. I've lately been wearing hats a bit more, although I'm not really a "hat person" (yet... or so my hat wearing friends have warned me ;).

Hope you have a great trip back east!

I love your dress!!!!!!! I know what you mean about not being able to wait for something to come in the mail... but I think that dress was worth it.

SF weather has been really crappy, I live near SF and it sometimes feels like winter in the evening.

I have a Westie, too, and noticed that she stopped scratching as much when I did two things:
1- gave her a shorter cut in the summer. Since we live in Atlanta, I opt for a buzz for the summers.
2- changed her food to Natural Choice. And instead of dog snacks, I give her bits of carrots and apples instead.

But I think all Westies have a tendency to have skin issues. It gets worse in the winter. She used to chew off all the fur on her legs when the weather got colder, but this stopped after the food change.
