A new dress! Picked up on Sunday at the flea market. And it almost didn't come home with me. It was only $10, which I know is very reasonable for flea market dresses. But, there are a few stains and a few holes and a nylon zipper! (I don't like nylon zippers, not even a little bit) and I'm trying to be careful with what I buy these days ... and well, I almost walked away. Then a voice of reason starting chirping. And I realized I'd be a damn fool to leave it behind!

That is a truly special dress. It's good thing you listened to your inner voice!
What a find!
That dress is adorable! It would go quite nicely with a vintage charm bracelet I own that features enameled fruits. :-)
Ohhhh thank god you didn't leave this one! That is the most darling dress I've ever seen. Period. Period.
Deserves two Periods.
:)
It looks beautiful on you, I'm glad you listened to your inner voice. "don't be a damn fool" lol, so cute!
I'm actually surprised you found it for so cheap, I find that most things at the flea market (Alameda?) are overpriced, maybe because I am used to finding them myself via thrifting. It's hard for me to fork out a lot of money unless it is something really unique/beautiful.
You are the absolute cutest! Your blog is a true inspiration, thanks.

That is a really cute dress. I wish there was a flea market near where I live.
I've been following your blog for a while now since seeing your house featured on Etsy. I think it's really cute; both your house and blog.

Oh its beautiful! I love the details at the bottom and the belt looks amazing with it. I don't think I've ever used a nylon zipper...why don't you like them?
it's so charming! which flea market do you go to?
PS - your joanna newsom reference matches the dress nicely~
Oh I think this dress is just beautiful! I am really jealous of it! 10 bucks is a steal even with small issues. We are so tight on money because my husband was laid off (architect) but, he would have been proud had I brought home this dress for ten bucks! :)
So cute! I can see why you had to buy it! I also feel the way you do about nylon zippers, eww, lol! I love this dress on you though! :o) Hugs!
It's a great dress! Can you replace the zipper? Since you hate nylon zippers so much I know my local alteration charges about $14 for a new zipper. At 5 feet tall I am always having to get clothes altered.
wise decision to buy! it's adorable.
love your blog!
xx
So glad you changed your mind! I do the same thing though. I passed up a $5 scarf that I'm still lamenting over.
adorable, it's a lucky one for sure.
i think it's a great buy! fits so nicely and the embroidery is beautiful.
Glad you went with your instinct...that dress is fabulous!
I think it was a great find at the flea market--horrible not to buy it! :)
no that is definitely one lovely find!
The embroidery was to special to pass on!to
What a sweet dress. It reminds of me not wanting to play tag during recess because I was afraid I would trip and sully whatever skirt/dress my mom made me wear that day.
I love your flea market dress! I'm so glad to be blogging with Meggy and hearing about lovely blogs like yours.

Absolutely adorable! Good decision!!
Ah I know that feeling - the indecision when buying something you love, but has stains hahaha! I am glad you bought it :D It looks super nice!
what a lovely find. so adorable! xx
Lovely dress, how I wish I could find such gems in flea markets! You look so lovely as usual. :)
A very cute dress. From the pictures you have posted I think your house is awesome. Like a vintage fairie land.
That is just so adorable!!! The cut is absolutely perfect for you and there's something about fruit. It's always charming.
What a great dress!
Hey chick,
Found your blog because the Etsy site was down, and I saw the video of you and your roomie. HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?!
I really dig your style and your house is the bee's knees! I will be back to haunt your blog.

You were right not to leave that dress, it looks great on you! I sometimes feel sorry for dresses, left behind because of a hole or a stain, they need a home too!
