It's raining here, sort of. It's been grey and chilly and sometimes rainy and I think it should be like this for the rest of the week. What better thing to do then watch Science is Fiction and take little screen captures of my favorite microscopic moments. I'll have to warn you though, I have a lot of favorites ....
. . . Hyas and Stenorhynchus, 1927 . . .
. . . How Some Jellyfish Are Born, 1960 . . .
. . . The Seahorse, 1933 . . .
. . .
I'll be back tomorrow with a little bit of color!

these microscopic images are all so gorgeous. thanks for sharing them.
These are so unique!! They'll definitely be amazing fashion inspirations one day..
By the way, I love your blog! :)
Oh the beautiful and graceful Seahorse! They look so delicate and powerful at the same time. Lovely : )
these are soooo gorgeous! breathtaking images of nature =]
The seahorse photos are great, especially the last one is fantastic.
Love Jean Painleve! I like 'Le vampire', the one about the bat with the amazing Duke Ellington soundtrack.
I love the sea horse images. I have always wanted pet sea horses.
I think you would really love the laboratory where I have my animal biology practicals. The building is really old and the room where we work sort of doubles up as a miniature natural history museum- it's a pretty cool place to work! Especially this term because we've been dealing with lots of live marine specimens which we get to draw and look at under microscopes.
beautiful...I am especially fond of the seahorses!

though only loosely related, this made me think of the 70's film, 'solaris.' have you seen it?
I LOVE the seahorses!! These are fabulous images!! I was at a show recently and someone picked up one of my necklaces with a tiny seahorse inside and the girl said, "I though seahorses were mystical creatures and not real!" blew my mind! just thought i would share ;)
Oh my goodness! I used to watch this over and over again. My favorite film was always the seahorses. The octopus one really scared me. I think it was all those tentacles. haha
Thank you for bringing back the memories! :)
