Closet Changes.

IMG_5100

I just want to apologize ahead of time- this blog post is pretty pointless and it's probably going to work its way out to be me rambling on about clothes. But, clothes have been on the brain lately. I've been so crazy about wearing black, white, and pale pink. Throw in a dash of navy blue and you have basically what I've been wearing and all my recent purchases. I'm just getting more and more simple and boring I think... Which I'm okay with.

I also think my un-ending love for Lyell is also a big part of this. Since having a closet full of the real deal is impossible for my humble etsy shop earnings (and for other, obvious reasons as well... I'm still too heart broken to talk about it)
I just make sure to use an editing eye when finding new things for myself. Simple designs with really beautiful details. Nothing too flashy from far away - but, when you look closely, there's really nice things going on.

I used to stay far away from the color black. I thought it wasn't right for me... Now I can't get enough! And please, don't get me wrong - I still loooove patterned cotton dresses and I certainly won't stop finding/hoarding them.. But, for right now, while I'm in San Francisco, I'll just stash them away until I'm some place warmer.

I think my goal for today is to try and clean out my closet a bit. I know I'm always doing this - but I never really unpacked from when I was back in MA (which was over a month ago) Today, I'll put the more precious things safely folded in tissue and tuck them away from dust and hanger damage. I'm also considering selling off some of my stuffed animals ... maybe in a round of ebay auctions. Of course I'll keep some - but I really could use some extra space to put shoes and bags and other things that just end up on the floor.

Beautiful photos. A clean closet always make me feel brand new for some strange reason.

I am very envious of your beautiful ornate radiator!

The black dress and top look amazing on you - I love sheer fabrics!
I'm always trying to clear my wardrobe but I love everything I own, even if I don't wear it, so I struggle to get rid of anything!

I totally understand. I'm going through a bit of a wardrobe crisis as well -- everything feels too bulky and heavy -- must be the change of seasons. I think that your black dresses are refreshing, light and perfect.

good lord, these photo's are incredible. it almost seems like an editorial - what an amazing shot of the rose heater and the reflected light dancing on the wall! i'm speechless. hope you don't mind that it's now my desktop photo. :) you look amazing in black too.

PS i love "train of thought" posts, i find most people tend to come to strong conclusions that way - so don't worry about the ramblings!

Thank you for the heads up about the Brimfield dealer!!! I ended up buying a pair of 1970s jeans from him for only $5, and I will def have to check him out at Todds Farm as well.
