Winter and Spring

springhill

. . .

Normally, I'm always the one to complain about New England's dreary winter and frigid temperatures - but for some reason, I haven't been minding it as much this year. The temperatures have been unusually warm though lately and it's got me confused about Winter and Spring. I'd really love a few more snow storms - but at the same time I can't wait until the grey and black piles of snow sludge are gone and the grass is warm enough to stick your toes into.

Lovely! <3

Hmm...i'd really love some higher temperatures here in Holland. I can't remember the winters being so cold here.

Hope you're fine!

Mila.

Beautiful illustration...I miss my New England winters (I'm studying in Quebec for a semester) soooo much! I wouldn't mind all the snow here, but it is too cold and you can't wear anything except a snow boot outside.

These children's book illustrations are so cute. Is this vintage? It's so precious, I love vintage illustrations from children's books. I'm in a snowstorm right now and I am so mad at myself because I forgot my snow boots at home & I'm at work. ahh! HAHA

I love those pictures! Winter hasn't bother me until recently. I would love spring, but up here it doesn't seem to come until June.

You can have the midwest snow storms...
I was nearly in tears after driving home in the fresh 6 inches of snow on the ground. Plus visibility is probably an 1/8 of a mile.

Beautiful pictures, they are really quite charming.

Cute photos. And I'm from NewEngland but currently living overseas. I'm so glad because all I keep hearing from friends and family is snow, ice, snow, ice.

The one with the boy reminds me of Le Petit Prince. Is that where it's from or just strikingly similar? I love all of them :-)

These illustrations are darling. Also, I am seriously contemplating burrowing a hole in the ground and hibernating until warmer days...

I saw you were wondering about Marc Jacobs spring collection. In the Feb issue of Vogue there is a fashion spread with the looks! Quite wonderful! :o)

Awww, those pictures are so nice. I love the snow but I hate the aftermath of slush and treacherous ice. It's a bit deadly. Spring means skirts and dresses and legs again to me but to be honest, it's probably just going to rain where I live. Your blog is good! x

I love old children's book illustrations. These look like the drawings from the Bubble Books from the early 1900s.
