rainy rainy days

A good long while ago I purchased this dress from Liebemarlene Vintage. I had seen it before in one of her Wardrobe Remix photos and it was one of those love-at-first-sight dresses.... When she put it up on ebay I figured it'd be another one of those things online that you wish for, but don't end up winning (like this Mama Stone Vintage dress some other lucky girl won) But, by some crazy luck, I won the auction!

When Rhiannon sent the dress she also sent along some other lovely things. (Including this black bag that I'm holding! - she's the sweetest!)

The dress looked so perfect on her, the way she styled it with the brown accessories - but when I put it on I looked ridiculous! it was a bit too short and the white and blue looked too childish on me.... A few tea bags later, and the dress was just right!

I was also lucky enough to have superstar Jeff Allen take these pictures! We ran around a big field and it was practically dark, but he has himself a magic camera and the pictures came out perfect!

kathleen: thanks so much! Rhiannon has some amaaazing things!! I was so lucky to win the dress!

lou: thank you so much!! I think the top one is my very favorite too!!

maia: thank you!! I used to want to go to school for fiber arts, so dying with tea is always my go-to quickly make things look a bit more unique!

belle.chantelle: I will send those sweet words along to the photographer!

nonshannontly: vintage umbrellas is one of my favorite things to collect too!! I don't think you can ever have enough because you can match them with all your outfits! The next one I hope to find is a creamy white parasol with pretty lace details!

lydia: I agree! I love the scene in Marie Antoinette taken at dawn, I mean - not quite the same lighting, but early morning and early evening photos are always one in the same!

dw: if you dye with tea (use black tea) then soak the item in white vinegar to set the color. Laundry detergents are designed to remove organic "stains" (the tea) so I wouldn't suggest dying something you'll wash a lot (linens and the like) and if you do wash it, hand wash it in the sink with woolite.

Your lovliness astounds me. These photos are gorgeous, as is your styling. I would love to see a tutorial on how you tea-stain clothing - does the stain survive the wash?

Very lovely outfit as always.
I had my eye on that MamaStoneVintage dress as well but unfortunately I just don't have the kind of cash those type of dresses usually go for.
XOXO
p.s. I hope you don't mind I posted a few of your pictures on my blog. Let me know if you would prefer me not to use them.

thank you everyone! if it weren't for Jeff they wouldn't look as wonderful! It was practically dark so he really had to mess with his camera settings to get the photos to come out!

louise: it's really very easy! but, after enough "normal" washings - the garmet should eventually go back to its original color!

annabananacupcake: no, of coure not! I'm flattered!

betty lou: I'll keep my eyes peeled!

mila: I feel the same way about yoru blog! And I hope it gets sunnier there too!

What a fantastic blog. It was one of the first I read when I fell into the blogosphere a few months ago. It still remains among my absolute favorites. These pictures are fantastic... any idea what kind of camera they were taken with?

I love the tea-colored-color! as a matter of fact I was so inspired by your coloring so I tried to color a baby blue skirt (baby blue is not for me) with tea, and I'm so happy about the result. from being a skirt (dust-collecter) on the bottom of my closet it's my favourite thing to wear, so thank you!

and, the photos are amazing as always. your blog is so sweet and inspiring! you have a real talent for mixing and matching different colors and everything looks perfect on you. wish I could keep you in a little box under my bed and take you up every morning so you can show me what to wear every day. of course i will feed you with candy, bluberries and pancakes and bring you to the lake when you get sad.

it's been raining non stop here for some days too. I love it and hate it. and its getting cold, i suppose summer is over for this time. That makes me a bit sad, I use to wish for fall all summer but this summer have been really cold and rainy.
