I don't spend enough time with this book as I should, it just makes me too sad to read it. There's something painfully truthful about Joseph Pintauro's words... almost like, things we know, but don't want to think about... Oh, heck- I don't know. It's a beautiful book, here are some of my favorite pages.

PS Can I just say, Norman Laliberté's handwriting samples make me want to pull out that Pilot Varsity Pen from my Black Ink days that I know I must have kicking around somewhere and practice my cursive.
what an amazing little book! so beautiful. and the handwriting is fantastic! if I were the owner of this book I would start every day looking in it and be inspired. where oh where can I buy it?

.... I bought all of my books from those three sites. Unfortunately I've had them so long I can't remember how much I paid for mine, but they look pricey on these sites!!
Good luck!!

ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about this book ever since you posted it... it made me feel so sad and haunted. But of course it's lovely, and there's also so fierce in its declarations. What an amazing little book.
ReplyDeletethank you everyone - this book is a lovely little find and I feel lucky to have it. The collection is one of my prized possessions.
ReplyDeleteJC - I added two more images just for you! I left out a lot of the really sad ones, but I thought the two pages about crocuses in the dirty snow were so lovely.
i am so in love with the pictures of the old orchestra
ReplyDeleteOh, you are so sweet!! Thank you so much for sharing more!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading about the crocuses--which I do get a little happily weepy over, because I'm constantly amazed at how they're able to surge through the snow and bloom, even in super-mucky New York snow--I absolutely have to get a copy of this book for my own.
Oh My!!! I believe this is even more beautiful than the Winter installment. I sure hope you plan on sharing pages from the other books you have in collection.
ReplyDeletethis is looks like a wonderful book! thanks for sharing! it's a real treasure to have :)
ReplyDeletei have a huge stash of those gummed labels, with dif. color borders, i got them many many years ago and use them still to label way to many things in my house, some people make fun of all the labled jars i have in cupboards, but they look so pretty!
